Hello Verona fans!
It’s almost 2013 and I have a little story that I want to share.
I strolled around the shops today and as I weaved my way around coffee drinkers and boutique stores (that were closed grr…) I wondered what Simon had been up to. I hadn’t seen him in a while so I called him.
“Hi Simon. I’m at the cafe a few blocks from your house. Let’s grab a coffee.”
“I’ll be there in 10 minutes,” Simon quickly agreed.
10 minutes later and we were sitting outside a local cafe catching up on all the news. “Wow… It’s been a while…” I secretly thought. “Simon’s hair has grown. A lot. It’s really curly.”

As we caught up on where our lives had taken us in 2012, the conversation inevitably meandered its way towards our passion project: Verona. Sweet, sweet Verona.
For all the budding chefs, I liken Verona to cinnamon. I believe they share similar qualities; incredibly sweet with the profound and magical ability to transform and transcend a dish, but also bitter if not careful.
As we reflected on 2012, a few major themes came to light; most notably:
@veronatheband Absolutely love your voice and the beats are amazing!

2012: A year of personal growth
Myself and Simon were both finalising our outstanding commitments, and had started to focus on our own individual projects. As a result, Verona took a back seat because we both had to undertake a journey; to live life; to experience it with joy and abandon; to learn; to grow; and to develop both personally and professionally so that when we picked up the reins again, we could jump in with both feet with a deeper understanding and appreciation.
Best band ever! Check them out @veronatheband.

Despite the hiatus Verona has grown. A lot!
An extra 6,000 Facebook fans and 3,000 Twitter followers to be a little more precise. Way. To. Go. Guys!!
This was a big (and pleasant) surprise. The regular Facebook posts from listeners requesting more songs and release dates was fantastic. (“People like the music? I thought only my mum and my tone-deaf friends would like it. Honest.”) Who knew..
It is truly touching to know that the music we create and distribute for free is loved and strikes a chord with others, and that there are people who patiently very patiently wait for more.
Your support, encouragement and comments are amazing pick-me-ups. You guys rock! (A lot!)
@veronatheband Loving your music!!

We’ve come full circle
They say that if you love someone, you can let them go. If it’s meant to be, one day they will return. I want to know that music is something that I truly love; something that forms a core part of who I am; and something that I seek on my own accord.
After a long hiatus, I sat at my piano last month and played. It wasn’t until then that I realised how much I had missed music. I found notes and chords that expressed what my words could not. It felt… nice. (There was that click so to speak.)
It was here that a seed was planted, and it kept growing and growing. I had to find a way back.
@veronatheband music like yours makes me feel like I belong to another galaxy. Fresh tunes! I dig
